So I'm thinking of a Flash Mob / Performance Art piece striking the city of San Francisco on Tuesday, October 31st 2006. Currently the thought is to have people that wish to participate get a plain white bed sheet or anything they can make a ghost costume out of to wear on Halloween night. The idea is to have all the participants leave work (between 5pm and 6pm) in their Ghostly outfits, the target is all of downtown SF from work to any Bart station located down Market street and disperse accordingly to where people live or get off of the Bart.... this idea can even extend to include Buses.
I'd like to get other peoples thought about this, it's really all in good spirits and innocent fun, but before I start to really promote the idea and get it organized, ideas and suggestions would be awesome.
Please join me in this quest, I've created a tribe to help the discussion and get the ball rolling here:

Re: Ghosting San Francisco
Tue, October 17, 2006 - 9:29 PMhave you been in a flash mob?
what i remember was the mystery to it - show up at this location, get further instructions. then go to this location, do X at 0600 hours until 0605 hours. disperse immediately.
it was very james bondish. spyish. a hell of a lot of fun.
what you are doing might be just way too random and loose to be fun. market street is rather huge. the simplicity of the ghost sheet costume is cute, but randomly placed people? it seems too loosely defined. would you even get a chance to see another ghost at all?
i dont know, maybe other people will have a better opinion of this idea. i think youve got a good start to an idea, but it might just be way too random and disconnected to even be fun.
oh, at the end of the flashmob i was in, we met at a bar (which was suggested from the beginning) and a small group of us chatted about the experience, and got onto other subjects. it was a great time.
